Well, Syracuse’s performance last night certainly took the wind outta their sails!
Is Pitt trending to be a safer pick than Miami? I’d have to think Miami has more talent but—and it pains me to admit this—Pitt has looked more dominant.
Also, I know Pitt isn’t Indiana but they also have no recent success to fall back on. Do they need to go unbeaten to get in or can they do it with one loss, conference championship, etc.?
Pitt has looked more dominant, but I'd say Miami is the safer of the two right now simply because the Pitt offense has fallen off some in the last few weeks. McCord's interceptions really buoyed them against Syracuse and Holstein hasn't had his best ball. If they go unbeaten, they're definitely in. If they're a one-loss conference champion, I'd say it depends on who the loss is to. They'd have a win over either Clemson or Miami on the resume, which helps. But a bad loss could knock them down since, like you said, they're not an established brand.

Yeah, that really hurt for Syracuse, lol!

Really interesting stuff for Pitt going forward!
