The biggest thing that Deion has done is that people are talking about Colorado. He's a flashy promoter and has had had a lot of success getting "skill position" talent already. However, any true success will come down to recruiting and development in the trenches.
I'm somewhat of a Veer & Shoot enthusiast and bringing in Sean Lewis as OC was a shrewd move. I believe that his version of the offense may be the best and he lacks the baggage of someone who was in a posyof power at Baylor 10 years ago.
But the offense generally has some struggles in year 1 before blossoming in year 2. I expect them to show some explosion against the weaker defenses but they just don't have the firepower to handle an athletic defense that can get quick pressure with a 4 man rush. Lewis may not stick around long enough to really establish things as he'll probably be in demand for another HC gig before long.
Deion has definitely made Colorado something people are talking about and a topic. That's always been step one.
I agree with you on Lewis. He's a great offensive mind and built up a solid program at Kent State, which is hard to do. He's going to have the offense going in the right direction. Like you said, it's going to take time, though. This isn't some overnight slap on a new coat of paint thing. The portal isn't an immediate path to victory, and we'll see that at Colorado.

I think they top out at 3 wins this season. The game vs Colorado State is a fun schematic matchup. I expect Clay Millen to take a big step this year
They've got a sneaky tough schedule. 3-4 might be the range they're looking at. We'll see how that kind of season works with the Deion strategy.
